Seismic Laboratory, simulates the effect that earthquakes have on structures, using a shake table. On the shake table physical models are installed to evaluate aspects such as their failure modes, their energy dissipation capacity and study alternatives to improve their behavior before these events, which allows obtaining conclusions on construction systems, design standards and the development of new technologies that reduce infrastructure vulnerability.

The shake table of Sismolab, for its characteristics and dimensions is the second equipment that is installed in Latin America. It consists of a mobile base powered by two hydraulic actuators, one on each horizontal axis, fully equipped for testing almost on a natural scale.
